Flows: Template Selection

Where do you find the template selection?

It is the first step of creating a Flow. In the Flows dashboard, click New Flow in the top right. The template selection opens before the Flow Builder does, so you decide what you are starting from before you start building. Cancel in the top right stops the creation and takes you back. If Flows are new to you, what a Flow is made of covers the structure first.

Which templates can you choose from?

The templates cover the use cases most stores start with. These are the typical categories you will see:

  • Order confirmation / Opt-in — an order confirmation plus a double opt-in straight after the purchase. It runs on the Contact purchase trigger.
  • Abandoned checkout — recovers checkouts that were started and never finished, and it already contains the delay logic that spaces the reminders out. See the Abandoned checkout trigger, and our guide to winning back abandoned carts on WhatsApp for what to put in the messages.
  • Smart Activation — re-engages contacts who have gone quiet. This one ships in several languages (DE, ENG, FR, NL), so you can run it in more than one market. How Smart Activation picks its moment explains the trigger behind it.
  • Opt-in Chat-In — collects leads and opt-ins through a QR code or a link, using the Chat-in trigger.

Treat this list as a snapshot rather than a fixed catalogue. Keaz adds and updates templates continuously, so what you see in your account may be broader than what is described here.

What do the colours on the tiles mean?

Each template is a colour-coded tile. The colour groups templates by purpose, so you can tell a recovery template from an opt-in template without reading every card. It is a navigation aid on this screen only — the colour has no effect on how the Flow behaves once it runs.

When should you start without a template?

Start without template opens an empty Flow Builder with nothing pre-filled. Choose it when the Flow you have in mind does not resemble any of the templates, or when you would spend longer stripping a template back than building from scratch. You then define the entry logic yourself in the Starting point block, which every Flow needs.

If you are new to Flows, a template is usually the faster route. It shows you a working structure you can read, and you can still change every part of it.

Can you edit a template after choosing it?

Yes, completely. A template is a starting structure, not a locked layout — there is no fixed content you are unable to change. Once you pick one, the Flow Builder opens with its blocks in place, and you edit, add or delete them like any other Flow. The same goes for the template selection for newsletters, which works the same way.

Why does the template library keep changing?

Because the use cases do. We add templates for patterns that turn out to work across stores, and update existing ones as the product gains blocks and options. Templates already in use are unaffected — a Flow you built from a template is a copy, and it does not change when the template does.

Multilingual templates matter if you sell across borders. Smart Activation, for example, exists in German, English, French and Dutch, which saves you translating the same sequence four times. You can then keep each version to its market with the Customer country filter in the Starting point.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to use a template?
No. Start without template opens an empty Flow Builder and you build the Flow from scratch. Templates are a shortcut, never a requirement.
Will my Flow change if Keaz updates the template I used?
No. Choosing a template copies its structure into your new Flow. Later changes to the template library do not reach Flows that already exist.
Can I change the trigger a template comes with?
Yes. The trigger lives in the Starting point block and you can change it there like any other setting. Bear in mind that the template's messages were written for its original trigger, so re-read them after switching.
Which languages are the templates available in?
It depends on the template. Smart Activation ships in German, English, French and Dutch. Others are single-language, and you translate the messages yourself in the Flow Builder.
