How do you open the send panel?
You send a newsletter from the Newsletter Dashboard. On a draft, use Send. From a newsletter's detail view, use Send or schedule. The panel opens to the right of the message preview, so the message stays visible while you set the sending options. Nothing leaves your account until you confirm.
Which sending methods can you choose?
Select your sending method offers three options:
- Send now — the newsletter goes to the selected segment as soon as you confirm. No date or time is needed.
- Send later — the newsletter goes out at a moment you set. The When field takes a date and a time and shows the timezone it applies.
- Send test — one test message to a single contact you pick, so you can check the newsletter before the real send.
How do you send a test message first?
A test send shows the newsletter the way your customers will see it, in a real WhatsApp chat. Use it to check formatting, personalised variables and links before the campaign goes out.
- Open the send panel and choose Send test.
- Search for the contact who should receive it. Contacts are listed with their name and phone number.
- Select the contact and confirm with Send test.
The test goes to that one contact only. The segment you choose for the real send is not affected by it.
How do you choose the recipients?
A newsletter always goes to a segment, never to hand-picked contacts. Under Select recipients, open the Select an option dropdown and choose one. The dropdown has its own search field, and every segment is listed with the number of contacts in it — so you see the size of the send before you commit to it.
If the audience you need does not exist yet, build it first. The Segment Builder explains how its rules and filters work. For how a newsletter fits together from template, content and segment, start with the newsletter overview.
What does Keaz warn you about before you send?
Two notices sit in the panel, and both are worth reading before you confirm.
- Meta fees will apply — appears once you have selected a segment. WhatsApp messages are billed by Meta, so a larger segment means a larger bill. The notice puts that in front of you before the send, not after it.
- The quality recommendation — "Try to secure the quality of your WhatsApp account by sending newsletters at a moderate frequency and specifically to the interests of your segments." Frequency and relevance are what keep block and report rates low.
How often to send and what to put in a campaign is a marketing question rather than a product one. Our playbook on planning a WhatsApp newsletter works through cadence and content with a real example.
What happens after you confirm?
Three buttons close the panel:
- Close — leaves the panel without sending. The newsletter stays a draft.
- Send — sends immediately. It becomes available once Send now is selected and a segment is chosen.
- Schedule Newsletter — books the send for the moment you set under Send later.
After an immediate send, the campaign appears in the overview with its own performance figures. A scheduled newsletter is not final — you can still change it or cancel it before its send time. What each column in the overview means, and what Send again and Duplicate do afterwards, is covered in Newsletter: Dashboard.
