Where do I find the filters?
- Open the Inbox.
- Click Filter above the conversation list.
- The filter panel opens with two groups, State and Label, plus Reset filters at the bottom.
The filter changes only the conversation list on the left. The open chat and the contact panel next to it stay where they are.
How do I filter by conversation state?
Under State you get Filter by chat state with three options:
- Read — only conversations someone has already opened. Useful for checking follow-ups rather than hunting for new work.
- Unread — only conversations nobody has read yet. This is the one that keeps a busy day manageable: at high volume you stop scrolling and just work the queue down.
- Reply window open — only conversations whose 24-hour reply window is still running, so you can still answer with free text instead of a charged template message.
That third option is the one worth learning. It sorts your Inbox by what is still cheap and easy to answer, which is a different question from what is newest.
How do I filter by label?
Under Label you get Filter by labels: a search field, and every label in your account below it as a coloured badge. Type to narrow the badges down, then click the ones you want. The selection is multi-select, so you are not limited to one label at a time.
This is what turns labels into a working routine rather than decoration: if your labels mark contact categories — VIP, wholesale, returns — the filter lets one person handle one category at a time. How labels get onto a contact in the first place, manually or automatically, is covered in how labels work.
Can I combine several filters?
Yes. A chat state and a label selection apply together, and the label selection itself can hold several labels. That gives you the combinations that actually come up in a shift — for example unread conversations from wholesale customers, or open reply windows among your VIP contacts.
If several people share one Inbox, this is usually how the work gets divided: each person filters to their own slice instead of everyone reading the same list. Whether a shared Inbox is even available to you depends on how your WhatsApp account is set up — we compare the options in WhatsApp Business with multiple users.
How do I get the full list back?
Click Reset filters. Every active filter is cleared at once and the conversation list returns to the complete overview. Worth doing before you hand the Inbox over to a colleague, so nobody inherits a filtered view and concludes it is empty.
