Where do I find the character counter?

Open the Inbox, open a conversation, and look at the bottom right of the composer, next to the Send button. The counter reads Character limit: 0/1024. The first number is what you have typed, the second is the limit, and the first one moves with every keystroke.

That means you never have to count anywhere else — no word processor, no browser extension. The rest of the composer and the message area are described in the Inbox conversation view.

Why is the limit 1,024 characters?

Because WhatsApp sets it. The cap applies per message and to every WhatsApp Business account, so it is not something Keaz can raise for you. What Keaz can do is put the number in front of you while you write, the same way it makes the 24h reply window visible instead of leaving you to find out afterwards.

What does the counter actually prevent?

A message that runs past the limit is how text ends up arriving cut off on the contact's side. The counter is there so you notice before that happens — the warning arrives while you are still writing, not after the customer has read half an answer.

How do I keep a long answer under the limit?

The limit applies to the message, not to the conversation. A long answer therefore becomes two short ones rather than a problem:

• Answer first, explain second. The customer's actual question usually fits in two sentences.
• Split rather than squeeze. Two messages read better in a chat than one wall of text, and each one gets its own 1,024 characters.
• Link out for detail. A product page or an order link carries more than a paragraph ever will.

Does this counter apply to newsletters and flows too?
