Revenue Tracking: one discount code per flow

Flows1 min readLast updated July 28, 2026

Why does each flow need its own discount code?

Attribution works by matching the redeemed code to the message that sent it. If two flows share one code, Keaz cannot tell which of them earned the revenue. A unique code per flow (and per newsletter) keeps the reporting clean and lets you compare campaigns against each other.

How do I add a discount code to a flow?

  1. Open the flow and click the Starting point block.
  2. Go to Revenue tracking and click Add.
  3. Enter a Discount code title — the internal name of the code.
  4. Choose the type — Percentage (%) or Fixed amount — and enter the value, for example 5%.
  5. Save. The active code then appears on the Starting point canvas as "Discount code: (X% off)".

For a newsletter you configure the same thing directly in the Newsletter Builder.

Do I have to save the code somewhere myself?

No. Once you create the code in Keaz, it is created in your shop system — for example Shopify — automatically. You don't copy it anywhere or keep a separate list: you insert it into your message as a variable, and you can use it in a button to send the customer straight to the shop with the code applied.

Where do I see the attributed revenue?

  • Dashboard — the global view: total shop revenue plus the revenue attributed to Keaz.
  • Per flow — only the revenue generated by that one flow.
  • Per newsletter — only the revenue generated by that one newsletter.

The full path is: the code is created → it appears in your shop system → it goes into the message as a variable → the customer redeems it → the revenue is recognised and attributed. No manual link tracking is needed.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create the discount code in Shopify first?
No. You create it in Keaz and it is created in your shop system automatically.
Can I reuse one code across several flows?
You can, but then revenue can't be attributed to a single flow. Use a unique code per flow and per newsletter for accurate reporting.
Percentage or fixed amount?
Both are supported — choose the type when you create the code and enter the value.
